WESTBROOK, CT—Ron Lyman, CCIM, CEO of Lyman Real Estate Brokerage & Development announced the sale of two commercial properties at 138-142 and 146 Main Street in Norwich for $418,000. The seller was Main 138 LLC/Mark Block and the buyer was T138 Main Street LLC/Ernest Tollja. The properties were sold in their entirety by JJManning Auctioneers, in cooperation with broker Lyman Real Estate Brokerage & Development. Mr. Lyman represented the seller and was the only agent involved in the transaction.
Both buildings are located in the heart of Downtown Norwich Historic District, across from the Superior Courthouse. The buyers intend to develop them as mixed-use commercial and residential properties. 138-146 Main Street is a 3.5-story commercial brick building with 6,926± square feet of first-class office space. It was built circa 1846 in the Greek Revival style and is known as “Robert Johnson’s Store.” 146 Main Street is a 6,818± square foot, 5-story brick building featuring views of the Thames River from the upper three floors. The property was formerly mixed-use with apartments over store, and has been gutted, ready for build-out. Known as the “Plaut-Cadden” building, it was constructed in Neo-Classical style circa 1910.
